Intro to Graphic Communications (Semester, .5 credit, grades 11, 12) HONONEGAH COURSE #742
This foundational course gives students the opportunity to explore Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop. Along with learning industry-leading software, the students will have a hands-on experience that will help thsm identify different career opportunities related to the graphics industry. Core topics covered in the course include designing for an audience, design principles and elements, image size and resolution, file saving and exporting, and copyright laws. After completing the course, the students can choose a level 2 course and pursue an Adobe Certified Professional (ACP) certification for each of the Adobe programs. Introduction to Graphic Communications fulfills the computer education graduation requirement. Students can earn articulated credit from Rock Valley College for this class. There is no course fee for this class.

DIGITAL DESIGN & ILLUSTRATION (Semester, .5 credit, grades 11, 12) HONONEGAH COURSE #713
This course provides students with an opportunity to combine digital illustraiton techniques with the world of print and digital media. This hands-on class offers the studetnst the opportunity to use Adobe Illustrator and a variety of production and finishing equipment to explore differnet print output. Advanced topics covered include: Designing for a client, proper usage of design principles and elements, vector draing, graphic elements, layers and masks, drawing and shape tools, 3D graphics and transformation tools, and animation. Projects include: Custom logos, vinyl stickers, animated stories, and laser-engraved water bottles. Students can earn an Adobe Certified Professional (ACP) certification after completing the course exam. Digital Design & Illustration satisfies the computer education graduation requirement. Students can earn dual credit from Rock Valley College for this class. RVC charges a $50 course fee.
