Health Services/Allied Health/Health Sciences Pathway
If you have a general interest in health care, a desire to help others, and an interest in life-long learning, a career in health science might be right for you. Many employment opportunities are currently available in health science. Most are in the private sector including hospitals and clinics, but public health organizations also hire for a variety of positions. Medical/Clinical Assistant Pathway
People in this profession perform administrative and certain clinical duties under the direction of a physician. Administrative duties may include scheduling appointments, maintaining medical records, billing, and coding information for insurance purposes. Clinical duties may include taking and recording vital signs and medical histories, preparing patients for examination, drawing blood, and administering medications as directed by physician. Athletic Trainer Pathway
People in this profession evaluate and treat musculoskeletal injuries or illnesses. Provide preventive, therapeutic, emergency, and rehabilitative care. |
Dental Assistant Pathway
People in this profession perform limited clinical duties under the direction of a dentist. Clinical duties may include equipment preparation and sterilization, preparing patients for treatment, assisting the dentist during treatment, and providing patients with instructions for oral healthcare procedures. May perform administrative duties such as scheduling appointments, maintaining medical records, billing, and coding information for insurance purposes. Pharmacy Technician Assistant Pathway
People in this profession prepare medications under the direction of a pharmacist. May measure, mix, count out, label, and record amounts and dosages of medications according to prescription orders. Nursing Assistant Pathway
People in this profession provide or assist with basic care or support under the direction of onsite licensed nursing staff. People in this profession might compile, process, and maintain medical records of hospital and clinic patients in a manner consistent with medical, administrative, ethical, legal, and regulatory requirements of the healthcare system. Electro-Cardigraph Technology Pathway
People in this profession conduct tests on pulmonary or cardiovascular systems of patients for diagnostic, therapeutic, or research purposes. May conduct or assist in electrocardiograms, cardiac catheterizations, pulmonary functions, lung capacity, and similar tests. Medical Lab Technician Pathway

People in this profession provide barbering services, such as cutting, trimming, shampooing, and styling hair; trimming beards; or giving shaves. |

Work & Family Studies Pathway
Family and Consumer Sciences courses help students to develop the knowledge and skills that are used to manage one’s family and career efficiently and productively. Course topics typically include foods and nutrition; apparel; childcare and development; housing, interior design, and maintenance; consumer decisions; personal financial management; interpersonal relationships; and careers available in family and consumer sciences. Social Work Pathway
Counseling and Mental Health courses provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to pursue a counseling and mental health career through simulated environments. These courses allow students to apply their knowledge of ethical and legal responsibilities, the limitations of these responsibilities, and the implications of their actions. Apparel & Textile Pathway
Focuses on the study and application of functional and aesthetic design, human factors research, production planning, manufacturing processes, quality assessment, and distribution systems of textile products. Additional topics include consumer and industry textile trends; industry specific terminology; advanced design applications; project development, management, and supervision; safety codes and procedures; portfolio development and presentation; client relationships; and individualized proficiency in textile/design skills. |
