What is an advisory committee and what does it do?
It brings together high school instructors, community leaders, and related businesses to talk about employability skills, workforce trends, share best practices, & provide connections for further collaboration, work based learning, etc.
What is the purpose of the meeting?
To inform business partners about what instructors are teaching, what certifcations being offered, if relevant & provide instructors (at a glance) into the specific pathway in the world outside of schools to see if they need to change anything in the curriculum or work-based learning experiences.
Who should attend?
Business leaders and employees in related fields to the career pathway, secondary teachers of the career pathway, workforce boards, adult education providers, and post-secondary institution representatives related to the feature career pathway.
What is the intended outcome?
To make a connection between the education system and the workforce needs in particular career pathways.
